【摘要】:Thispracticeisintendedforuseindeterminingthesamplesizerequiredtoestimate,withspecifiedprecision,ameasureofqualityofalotorprocess.Thepracticeapplieswhenqualityisexpressedaseitherthelotaverageforagivenproperty,orasthelotfractionnotconformingtoprescribedstandards.Thelevelofacharacteristicmayoftenbetakenasanindicationofthequalityofamaterial.Ifso,anestimateoftheaveragevalueofthatcharacteristicorofthefractionoftheobservedvaluesthatdonotconformtoaspecificationforthatcharacteristicbecomesameasureofqualitywithrespecttothatcharacteristic.Thispracticeisintendedforuseindeterminingthesamplesizerequiredtoestimate,withspecifiedprecision,suchameasureofthequalityofalotorprocesseitherasanaveragevalueorasafractionnotconformingtoaspecifiedvalue.1.1Thistestmethodisdesignedtodeterminethedeflagrationparametersofacombustibledust-airmixturewithinanear-sphericalclosedvesselof20Lorgreatervolume.Theparametersmeasuredarethemaximumpressureandthemaximumrateofpressurerise.1.2Dataobtainedfromthistestmethodprovidearelativemeasureofdeflagrationcharacteristics.Thedatahavealsobeenshowntobeapplicabletothedesignofprotectivemeasures,suchasdeflagrationventing().1.3Thistestmethodshouldbeusedtomeasureanddescribethepropertiesofmaterialsinresponsetoheatandflameundercontrolledlaboratoryconditionsandshouldnotbeusedtodescribeorappraisethefirehazardorfireriskofmaterials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.However,resultsofthistestmaybeusedaselementsofafireriskassessmentthattakesintoaccountallofthefactorsthatarepertinenttoanassessmentofthefirehazardofaparticularenduse.Theevaluationofthedeflagrationparametersofmaximumpressureandmaximumrateofpressurerisecanalsobedoneusinga1.2-LHartmannApparatus.TestMethodE789,hasbeenpublishedregardingthisapplication;however,theuseofthesedatainthedesignofdeflagrationventingandcontainmentsystemsisnotrecommended.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
