【摘要】:1.1Thissafetyspecificationestablishesrequirementsfordevicesintendedtoaddresstheriskofinjuryanddeathassociatedwithaccidentalfallsthroughopenwindowsbychildrenfiveyearsoldandyounger.Note18212;ThisspecificationisnotintendedtomeettheuniquerequirementsofAmericansWithDisabilitiesAct(ADA).1.2Thissafetyspecificationappliesonlytowindowfallpreventiondevices,includingwindowopeningcontroldevices,windowfallpreventionscreens,andfallpreventionwindowguardsthataretobeusedonwindowsthatarenotintendedforescape(egress)andrescue(ingress).Note28212;SpecificationF2090addresseswindowfallpreventiondevices(releasable)forwindowsintendedforemergencyescapeandrescueandanyotherwindownotcoveredbythisspecification.1.3Thissafetyspecificationappliesonlytodevicesintendedtobeappliedtowindowsinstalledatheightsofmorethan75ft(23m)abovegroundlevelinmultiplefamilydwellingbuildings.Thissafetyspecificationisnotintendedtoapplytowindowsbelow75ft(23m)becauseallwindowsbelow75ft(23m)thatareoperablecouldbeusedasapossiblesecondarymeansofescape.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallsafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
