【摘要】:1.1Thisconsumersafetyspecificationestablishesrequirementsfortheperformanceofportablebedrails.Italsocontainsrequirementsforlabelingandinstructionalliterature.1.2Thisconsumersafetyspecificationisintendedtominimizehazardstochildrenresultingfromnormaluseandreasonablyforeseeablemisuseofportablebedrails.1.3Forthepurposeofthisconsumersafetyspecification,aportablebedrailisadeviceintendedtobeinstalledonanadultbedtopreventchildrenfromfallingoutofbed.Thesebedrailsareintendedforchildrenwhocangetinandoutofanadultbedunassisted(typicallyfrom2to5yearsofage).1.4Nobedrailasdefinedin3.1.1thatisproducedaftertheapprovaldateofthisconsumersafetyspecificationshall,eitherbylabelorothermeans,indicatecompliancewiththisspecificationunlessitconformstoalltherequirementscontainedherein.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.6ThefollowingprecautionarycaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodsportioninSection8ofthisspecification.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
