【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversthesocketproducedforsolventcementjointsonbothpressureandnon-pressureIPSpipe.Italsocoversthetestingofthejointsonbothpressureandnon-pressurepipe,andincludesrequirementsforsocketdimensions,burstpressure,andjointtightnesstestsofthesolventcementedjoints.Thetestsdescribedarenotintendedforroutinequalitycontrol,butrathertoevaluatetheperformancecharacteristicsofthejoint.Note18212;OndualmarkedSchedule40DWVandpotablewaterpipe,thesocketbellsmustconformtothedimensionalandphysicalrequirementsforpressuresocketbells.1.2Thetextofthisspecificationreferencesnotes,footnotes,andappendixeswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthespecification.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.Note28212;Changesinground,water,orairtemperaturewillproduceexpansionorcontractionforcesinPVCpiping,andthesewillresultinlongitudinalshearstressesinthesolventcementjoints.Thesestressesmustbeconsideredinthedesignandoperationofthesystem.Note38212;SeePracticeD618forinformationrelatingtothisspecification.1.4Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodportion,Section10,ofthisspecification.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
